CLINTON — Jack L. Cappa, 63, of Clinton, passed away at 1:15 p.m. on Oct 7, 2013, at Union Hospital, in Terre Haute. He was born Sept. 25, 1950, in Vermillion County, to Ettore and Lena Cappa. He was a 1972 graduate of Indiana State University, with a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in education. He spent the first few years of his professional career as a high school teacher, where he coached baseball, football and basketball. He then was a Prudential agent for more than 25 years and he has spent the last 10 years as the agency manager for Farm Bureau Inc.
He was an avid golfer who enjoyed playing with his friends and going on bird hunting trips. Jack also loved to talk about the Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears and his grandchildren more than anything. He was a member of the Clinton Golf Association, Quails Unlimited and the Clinton Lions Club. He also was involved with coaching Little League and Softball and played baseball with the Blanford Cardinals.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Pamela K. Holaday Cappa; daughter, Alana and Chris Williams; and son, Jeff and Melinda Cappa; four grandchildren, Nolan and Torie Williams, and Lucy and Gianna Cappa; one brother, Mick and Nancy Cappa; nieces, Teresa and Larry Cox, Beth and Troy Goodman, and Michelle and John Brady; great-nieces and great-nephews, Grace Goodman, Isabella, Owen and Nicholas Brady; brothers-in-law, Duane and Lou Holaday, Doug and Connie Holaday, Mark and Martha Holaday; and nieces and nephews, Kristi Hale, Cassandra Davis, Heather and Mike Lee, Jody Hutton, Eric Easterday, Joel Holaday, Mia Holaday; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
Visitation is today at Frist Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday. Cremation will follow services. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice. Online condolences may be made at: www.fristfuneralhome.com
