Linda L. Knight, 68, of Anderson, passed away Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at Saint Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital. She was born on May 30, 1945, in Chicago, Ill., and resided in Anderson most of her life.
Linda graduated from Sullivan High School in 1963, and from Indiana State University with a bachelor of science degree in 1967 and a master’s degree in education in 1969.
She was a retired teacher, having worked for the Frankfurt and Anderson school systems. She primarily taught first grade at Southview Elementary from 1973 until her declining health required her to retire in 2007.
Linda was a member of American Federation of Teachers and Wesley Free Methodist Church.
She is survived by her brother, Dr. Randall B. (Gloria Melendez) King of San Antonio, Texas; and friends, Darlene (Michael) Ginder of Anderson and Janie (Don) Keevin Anderson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Byard and Lorraine (Clark) King.
Cremation will take place, with a memorial service scheduled at the Wesley Free Methodist Church, 3017 W. Eighth St., Anderson, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, with Pastor Mark Adams officiating.
