Vera Healy

TERRE HAUTE — Vera Healy, 94, of Terre Haute, formerly of White County, Ill., passed away on Feb. 19, 2013 at the Union Hospital. Vera was born in Eldorado, Ill., on Dec. 5, 1918, to Lewis and Mary (Ridenour) Wease.

She was a member of the United Methodist Temple and had formerly belonged to the Order of Eastern Star. She was a talented seamstress whose handiwork will be missed by her family. She was also known as a wonderful cook who enjoyed making meals for her family and being a homemaker.

Her beloved husband, Marion V. Healy, preceded her in death on Nov. 5, 2006.

She is survived by a son, Randall V. Healy and his wife Sandy; two daughters, Marilyn Sample and her husband Larry; and Catherine Strain and her husband Terry. Her grandchildren are Allison (Andrew) Steiner, Jason Sample, Amanda Strain, Kevin Healy, and Andrea (Tad) Taylor; great-grandchildren are Autumn Healy and Layne Healy. She also has several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her sisters and brothers Leland Wease, Ivan Wease, Iris Morehead, Edith West, Velma Watson, and Vernice Oxford.

Visitation will be in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. (3 p.m. CST) at Enfield, Ill. For those who choose online condolences may be offered at:
