Shirley Smith, 55, of Terre Haute, passed away Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at her residence. She was born on May 6, 1957, in Kentucky, to Leo Blankenship and Verna Estepp Blankenship.
Shirley had a passion for fishing, bird watching, dogs and dolphins.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Juanita Johnson.
She is survived by her husband Loren Smith, who she married May 20, 1988. She is also survived by a daughter, Heather Blankenship of Terre Haute; step-daughters, Angie Smith and Jennifer Lee Smith, both of Crawfordsville; two brothers, Richard Blankenship and wife Jeanie, and Ernie Blankenship and wife Sue, all of Terre Haute; two sisters, Ruth Blankenship, and Fay Sayer and husband Michael, all of Florida; three grandchildren; Gaige Cordell, Tianna Farley and Neena Farley; two aunts; one uncle; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., Terre Haute, IN 47804, with visitation from noon until service time. The Rev. Jeff Lee will be officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View cemetery. Online condolences can be made at:
