Kelly J. Hammonds

MARSHALL, Ill. — MARSHALL, Ill. — Kelly J. Hammonds, 48, of Marshall, passed away at 4:10 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind. She was a legal secretary at the Meehling & Bernadoni Law Firm of Marshall. Kelly was born Aug. 29, 1964, in Terre Haute, the daughter of Joe Sheese and Patricia Malone Sheese. She married Brian Hammonds on March 19, 1987, in Marshall.

Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Kristen Hammonds of Washington, Ind,; a brother, Jay (Renee) Voight of Fort Wayne, Ind,; her father, Joe (Nita) Sheese of Terre Haute; two aunts, Barb Berner and Mary Carey of Marshall; an uncle, Chuck (Debbie) Malone of Prairieton, Ind,; a stepfather, Steven Voight of Roseburg, Ore.; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her mother.

She was a member of St. George’s Episcopal Church of West Terre Haute, Ind., and was the Bishop Warden at the church.

Services in honor of her life and recognition of her faith will be 10 a.m. CDT Wednesday at Pearce Funeral Home, 314 S. 6th St., with Father Jack Brockman officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Park, in Terre Haute. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and prior services Wednesday.
