CLINTON — Margaret Ann Shepard, 84, of Clinton, died at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Vermillion Convalescent Center, in Clinton. She was born on Nov. 16, 1928, in Clinton, to Battista Ruffattola and Mary Nora Ruffattola. She married Dale L. Shepard, on June 10, 1951, and he preceded her in death.
She was owner of Shepard’s Gas Inc., and Shepard’s Appliance Center Inc. She was a member of Clinton First United Methodist Church, O.E.S. 254 Clinton, Daughters of the Nile, Rockville Elks Lodge 2471, Committee member for Boy Scouts of America-Wabash Valley Council, Indiana Propane Gas Association, National Gas Association, Clinton Chamber of Commerce, Indiana Retail Council, and former member of Kappa Delta Phi.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale Louis Shepard, on Oct. 27, 2010; brothers, Nip, Ted, John, and Julius Ruffattola; sister, Eleanor Slavens; and a great-nephew, J. T. McKinney.
Survivors includes her son, Robert Dale Shepard and his wife Rebecca Lynn of Clinton; grandson, Aaron Louis Shepard; granddaughter, Allison Nicole Shepard; eight nieces, Anna Marie (Terrell) McKinney, Mary Ann (Tim) Nicoson, Teresa Kortvely, Mary (Ferruccio) Fornero, all of Clinton, Jeri L. Ruffato, Toni Ann (Don Ray) Mills, Jeanette (Rick) Fulmer, all of Indianapolis, and Sue Williams of Terre Haute; one nephew, Michael Ruffattola of Clinton; four great-nephews, Ryan Williams of and Jason McKinney, both of Clinton, and Greg Fulmer of Michigan, and Eric Fulmer of Washington, D.C.; and one great-niece, Angie Williams of Florida.
Services are 11 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013, at Giovanini Funeral Home, in Clinton, with the Revs. Susan Martin and Allen Relford officiating. Burial is in Walnut Grove Cemetery, Clinton. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, 2013, with Order of Eastern Star services at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scouts of America-Terre Haute District with envelopes available at the funeral home.
