Carolyn Sue (Osmon) Kreilein Pierce, 78, of Terre Haute, formerly of Brazil, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Signature Healthcare with her family by her side.
She was born on March 19, 1935 in Clinton to Adams and Caroline “Carrie” (Craft) Osmon.
Sue graduated from Hillsdale High School with the class of 1953. She married John Davis “J.D.” Kreilein on July 3, 1953. Following his passing in 1985, she married Donald Pierce in 1988, who also preceded her in death in 2002. She attended Tennessee Valley Baptist Church. Mrs. Pierce worked as a salesperson at Schultz Department Store for 17 years. She was a member of the Wabash Valley 4-Wheelers and the Otter Creek Citizens Patrol. In her free time she enjoyed camping and spending time outdoors.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, J.D. Kreilein and Donald Pierce; daughter, Janet Kreilein Ross; and siblings, Jackie Osmon, Marie Osmon, Marion Osmon, Allen Osmon, Lena Leah Kasubjak and Patricia Lohrmann.
Survivors include two daughters, Sedonia Lancaster and husband Jerry of Brazil, and Roberta Schwanke of Michigan City; a son, John Kreilein Jr. and wife Lisa of Brazil; a brother, William Osmon and wife Sedonya of Terre Haute; eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Friday at French Funeral Home, with Charles Areson officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
