Ronald R. Terhune

BRAZIL — Ronald R. Terhune, 75, of Brazil, passed away at 3:14 p.m. April 24, 2013, in Union Hospital with his wife, Diana, at his side. He was born Nov. 2, 1937, in Linton, the son of Henry and Florence Pruitt Terhune. Ron graduated from Brazil High School and worked in Phoenix, for over 20 years from Local 75 Iron Workers Union. After coming back to Brazil, Ron worked for Hancor in the maintenance department.  

On Nov. 25, 1955, Ron was united in marriage to Diana Turner Terhune. Ron was a wonderful husband, dad and grandpa “Boo-Boo”. Ron went to as many baseball and softball games as he could. He was an encourager to his daughters and his grandchildren. Fun times were found on the Eel River, Oak Ridge golf course, and at the YMCA. He was a member of the Brazil Elks Lodge and over the years, he and Diana have enjoyed dancing and vacationing together. Ron was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Brazil.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Diana Terhune of Brazil; four daughters, Jan Terhune and husband William Keltz of Virginia, LeAnn Martin and husband Randal D. of Brazil, Kimberly Rudolph and husband Don “Rudy” of Michigan, and Stacy Latham and husband Bradley of Center Point; grandchildren, Joshua Coleman (Layne), Lindsey Irwin (P.J.), Bryan A. Martin, Cody Rudolph (Angela), Jeremy Latham (Kelsie Simmonson), Derek Latham, and Lainey Latham; great-grandchildren, Arlie Irwin, Grady Irwin, Griffin Rudolph, Brendan Craig, and Addison Latham; other extended family and a host of friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; and two grandsons, Kyle Rudolph and Joseph Rudolph.

Services will be held Monday, April 29, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Lawson-Miller Chapel with Gary Scroggins officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery.  Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Ron’s memory to the First Presbyterian Church Youth Program or to YMCA Strong Kids Campaign. Light a candle in his memory at:
