Charles E. Cartwright, 75, of Clinton, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, in his residence. He was born on July 16, 1937, in Clinton, to Courtney Cartwright and Rebecca Holder Cartwright. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1962.
He was a tool and dye maker at the GM Plant from 1956-1992. He was a member of the Jerusalem 99 Free & Accepted Masons, raised in 1964 and was worshipful master in 1992, a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute, and he enjoyed golfing, bowling, and euchre.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; one sister; and a special great-granddaughter, “Chubber”.
He is survived by his wife, Pat Cartwright; son, Troy Cartwright; daughter, Diana Engelking; son, Mick and Chris Wright; daughters, Tracy Bovair and Toni and Josh Bolen; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe and Pam Cartwright; and several sister and brothers-in-law.
Visitation will be on Friday, March 22, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Frist Funeral Home, 458 Blackman St., in Clinton. A Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Services will be on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Bob Howard officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Military rites will be performed by the American Legion and the Veteran of Foreign Wars.
