TERRE HAUTE —
Virginia Lee Pitts, 73, of Terre Haute, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, in her residence. Virginia was born in Sullivan County to Leonard Roberts and Dorothy L. Lambeth Roberts, on Aug. 19, 1940. She retired from John’s Dental Lab after 29 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, crafts and her family. She was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Young and Jeff Pitts.
She is survived by her husband, Pete Pitts, whom she married April, 13, 1991; four sons, Jim Young and Becky, David Young and Connie, Walter Pitts, and Randall Pitts and wife Tina, all of Terre Haute; one daughter, Darla Lowe and husband Mark of Dennison, Ill.; four brothers, Jerry Roberts and wife Lilly of Carlisle, Bill Roberts and wife Carol of New Lebanon, and Bob Roberts and wife Cathy of Sullivan; two sisters, Wilma McCain and husband Kenny of Shelburn, and Judy Phegley and husband Bill of Carlisle; 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St. A gathering for family and friends will be from 11 a.m. until service time on Friday. The Rev. Jon Chris McKinney will be officiating. On line condolences may be made at: www.greinerfuneralhome.com
