Charlotte Anita Kyle

BRAZIL — BRAZIL — Charlotte Anita Kyle, 89, of Brazil, accepted the final call and departed this life on Dec. 31, 2013, at 2:36 a.m. at St. Vincent Clay Hospital. She was born May 10, 1925, in Philadelphia, the daughter of Walter J. Baynard Sr. and Adah (Masterson) Baynard. She graduated from Greencastle High School. On Jan. 1, 1943, she married Francis G. Kyle Sr. He preceded her in death on Aug. 23, 2002.  

Mrs. Kyle was a member of the 2nd Baptist Church in Brazil. She also was a part of the Needlework Club in Greencastle; the Thrifty Ladies Home Economics Club of Terre Haute, and she was one of the founding members of the Clay County Food Pantry. She was affectionately known as “Momma K” to her family and friends.  Charlotte enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. She was a Girl Scout and helped her daughter-in-law with her Girl Scout leader duties.  

She also was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Walter Baynard and Lloyd Baynard; and granddaughters, Amy L. Kyle and Annette Kyle.

She is survived by her sons, Francis G. Kyle Jr. (Roberta), and Rodney Kyle; grandchildren, Anita Williams (Larry), Anitra Young, LaToya Sanders (Gary), Francis G. Kyle III, Rodney D. Kyle II and Derrick Wickware; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren, Chrischelle Brown, Terry Johnson, and Anna Smith; four stepgreat-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2013, at French Funeral Home, with the Rev. Johnnie White officiating. Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home. If friends desire, donations may be made to the Clay County Food Pantry, 506 E. Pinckley, Brazil, Ind.
