Mary J. Wilson, 73, of Terre Haute, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2013, at Signature Health Care. She was born July 22, 1939, in Vigo County. to Vestal and Hazel (Senters) Allen. Prior to being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease, Mary was known for her homemade cooking and practical jokes. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with family. She and her husband both loved Florida and spent many years traveling to Daytona Beach for two weeks each summer. She retired from Columbia House in 1999 after 30 years of employment.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David “Kent” Wilson, whom she married Nov. 6, 1955; a son, Johnny Wilson; a grandson, David Wilson; and a granddaughter, Kim Kabbany.
Mary is survived by her mother-in-law, Virginia Wilson; two brothers, Chuck Allen and wife Nancy, Terry Allen and wife Carolyn; two sons, Randy Wilson and wife Chris, Davie Wilson and wife Joann; two daughters, Terri Wilkinson, Susan Mace and husband Eddie; and daughter-in-law, Retta Wilson; 11 grandchildren, Kevin Wilson, Eric Wilson, Brandy Haltom, Bronson Wilson, Melissa Kellett, Bridget Hill, Brent Wilkinson, Brandon Mace, Amanda Sereno, Dusty Hill, and Michael Mace; 13 great-grandchildren; as well as many close friends and relatives.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Herb officiating. Burial will follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at:
