Margaret A. “Peggy” Ray, 84, of Bloomington, Ill., formerly of Terre Haute, Ind., died at 4:45 a.m. Monday, July 1, 2013, at Meadows Mennonite Retirement Home, Chenoa, Ill.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a private family service will be held at a later date. Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, Ill., is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Meadows Mennonite Retirement Home.
She was born May 12, 1929, in Terre Haute, the daughter of Foster “Boots” and Gladys Ross Moore. She married Thomas Cogan and he preceded her in death after 25 years of marriage. She later married William Roessler and he preceded her in death after six years of marriage. She later married William Ray and he preceded her in death after 24 years of marriage.
Surviving are a son, Michael (Harriett) Cogan of Bloomington, Ill.; a daughter, Debbi (Jon) Ford of Boulder, Colo.; three grandchildren, Jeremy (Raegan) Ford of Sandy, Utah, Brooke (Jim) Boyer of Chicago, and Jillian (Joe) Ahlgrim of Highlands Ranch, Colo.; two great-grandchildren, Ceinwen and Emma Ahlgrim; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Cogan; a daughter, Michelle Kay Cogan; a sister, Virginia McPeak; and two brothers, John and Robert Moore.
Peggy was a graduate of Garfield High School in Terre Haute and was a self-employed property manager for many years in addition to being a homemaker. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Terre Haute.
Peggy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt who will be dearly missed.
