Larry Eugene “Big Daddy” Luce, 65, of Clinton, died at 10:50 a.m., Monday, April 22, 2013, at Roudebush V.A. Medical Center, in Indianapolis, He was born July 22, 1947, in Paris, Ill., to Paul Luce and Lorene Brown Luce. He retired in 2005 from Teamsters Local 135 after 30 years of service.
He was a member of American Legion Post 104, Veterans of Foreign Wars Runyan Pierce Post 6653, Clinton Golf Association, Clinton Bocce Club, and “Old Coots” Coffee Club. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Lazo Stuper; and a brother, Jerry Luce.
Survivors include his wife, Roberta Foster Luce, whom he married June 28, 1969; son, Brian and wife Tina of Mattoon, Ill.; grandchildren, Bailey and Griffin; brothers, Tom Stuper and wife Joann, and Bob Stuper, all of Indianapolis; brothers-in-law, Rob and wife Doreen Foster, John and wife Melissa Foster, Larry and wife Sherri Foster; sister-in-law, Beverly Luce of Paris; nieces and nephews, Jimmy Stuper, Claire Stuper, Laura Luce, Richard Luce, Ryan Foster, Dustin Foster, and Caitlen Foster.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, April 25, 2013, at Giovanini Funeral Home, with the Rev. Marta Adubato officiating. Burial is at a later date in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Visitation is 3 to 8 p.m. today. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Sacred Heart Church or Clinton Golf Association.
