MARSHALL, Ill. —
David E. Miller, 71, of Marshall, passed away at 8:57 a.m. Friday, June 21, 2013, in Methodist Hospital, where he had been admitted earlier that day. He had suffered a stroke and had been transferred from Union Hospital in Terre Haute, Ind., to Methodist Hospital. He was born April 30, 1942, in Terre Haute, the son of George Miller and Jean Pauline Morgan Miller. He married Lynn Walker on Oct. 26, 1923, in Brazil, Ind.
Surviving are his wife, Lynn; a son, Kevin Miller and wife Chris of Marshall; a daughter, Kim Shreve of Marshall; a brother, Allen Miller and wife Bobbi of West Union; three grandchildren, Alex, Matt and Josh; great-grandchildren, Paul, Abby, Ryan, Ruth and Garrison; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a 1960 graduate of Marshall High School, where he played football all four years. He had raised swine for many years and was a lover of his horses. He also enjoyed bowling.
Services in honor of his life will be 10 a.m. CDT Tuesday, at Pearce Funeral Home in Marshall, with Pastor Phil Price officiating. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery.
