TERRE HAUTE —
Paul Lowell Lammey, 82, of Terre Haute, passed away at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, 2013, in Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Greene County, on June 25, 1930, to John Lammey and Lena Mason Lammey. Paul was a U.S. Army veteran, having attained the rank of corporal and served in the Korean War. He was a welder for Peabody Coal Company and was a member of United Mine Workers Local 1410 District 12.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rita Linton Lammey, whom he married April 12, 1952. He also is survived by a son, Jeffrey Lammey and wife Dianna of Terre Haute; a daughter, Lisa Brewer and husband Denny of Terre Haute; five grandchildren, Angela Padgett and husband Kevin of Tampa, Fla., Ryan Lammey of Madison, Wis., Matthew Brewer of New Albany, Andrew Brewer of New York City, and Ethan Brewer of Terre Haute; two sisters-in-law, Wilma Lammey of Terre Haute, and Patricia Orman of Jasonville; a brother-in-law, John Linton of West Frankfort, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Willard Lammey, Alured Lammey, Edward Lammey, and Bert Lammey; and one sister, Lorene Walker.
A memorial service will be in DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at 7:30 p.m., with Pastor Gregg Orman officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, June 25, 2013, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. In keeping with his wishes, cremation will follow the service.
