MARSHALL, Ill. —
MARSHALL, Ill. — Romona Gail “Moni” Reed, 69, of Marshall, passed away at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at Burnsides Community Care Center in Marshall. She was a retired assistant manager at Marshall Walmart. She was born Oct. 16, 1943, in the Clarksville area of Clark County, Ill., the daughter of Denver Sims and Dorothy Phillips Sims. She married John Reed on June 10, 1962, in Clarksville.
Surviving are her husband, John; a son and his companion, Rick Reed and Sonja Beltran of Marshall; a daughter, Buffy Reed of Marshall; grandchildren, Thashia Rollings and her husband Matthew, Dylan Reed, Summer Rose Reed, John Reed, Shaylyn Reed, and Kimberly Ann Gruwell; two great-grandchildren, Baylee Rollings and Boston Rollings; two sisters, Phyllis Pancake and her husband Jack of Marshall and Donna Chaney of Marshall; two brothers, John Sims and his wife Marjorie of Paris, Ill., and Jack Sims and his wife Debbie of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, George Sims; and a sister, Wilma Miller.
She was a member of the Clarksville Baptist Church and was a 1961 graduate of Marshall High School. Her most memorable and rewarding career was her babysitting service and taxi service for her grandchildren.
Memorial services in honor of her life will be 1 p.m. CDT Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Pearce Funeral Home, 314 S. 6th St., in Marshall. with Brother Paul Cooper officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and prior services on Saturday at the funeral home.
