Edward Bealmear

TERRE HAUTE — Edward “Eddie” Bealmear, 65, of Terre Haute, passed away peacefully on Sept. 21, 2013, surrounded by his wife of 42 years, their daughter, son, and a host of family and friends after a short battle with cancer. He was born April 25, 1948, in Terre Haute, to Edward Bealmear Sr. and Ruth (Banta) Bealmear.

Eddie followed his father’s footsteps as a railroader with Conrail until he became disabled due to an accident. He had a great knowledge and took a lot of joy out of repairing small engines and lawnmowers. He loved to reminisce about his childhood, especially all the mischief that he and his brothers got into.

Eddie enjoyed his mother’s special apple crisp. He never knew a stranger because of his friendly and outgoing nature. He had a passion for fishing, and taking his boat out on the Wabash and White rivers. He was an expert at filleting fish and his fried fish turned out perfect every time. He was an avid Indianapolis Colts and NASCAR fan.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela K. Bealmear; daughter, Tami Lynn (Sissy, affectionately called by her dad); son, David Lee Bealmear (who inherited his dad’s love of fishing); a brother, Terry Bealmear; sisters, Sally Hays and Ruthie Seeley; sister-in-law, Cheryl Bealmear; an aunt, Delores (Vernon) Nelson; grandsons, Devan L. Waggoner, Justin Hild, Brady Hild, and Bryson Edward Bealmear; a granddaughter, Kami N. Bealmear; and a great-granddaughter, Addison Fay-Lee Waggoner; special friends, Gary and Jeanie Brown; many cousins and many other friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Donna Sue; brothers, Albert Bealmear, John Bealmear, and Crafton “Butch” Bealmear; a sister-in-law, Sandra J. Bealmear; and a brother-in-law, Steven R. Reed.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. until services at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, with Pastor Jeffrey Harpole officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at:
