BRAZIL — John H. Bradshaw, 80, of Brazil, passed away unexpectedly, Sept. 21, 2013, at St. Vincent Clay Hospital. He was born Dec. 17, 1932, in Carbon, the son of William H. Bradshaw and Orlean (Dowen) Bradshaw. John graduated from Van Buren High School with the class of 1951. Following high school he attended General Motors Institute in Flint, Mich., and graduated from Rose Hulman Institute of Technology in 1956.
After graduating, John’s career took him to Dana, Ind., and New Brunswick, N.J., where he worked for DuPont, then to Hartford City, Ind., and St. Paul, Minn., where he worked for 3M. He retired from 3M in 1976 and returned home to Northern Clay County, where he enjoyed raising Shorthorn cattle and restoring Ford tractors.
He married Carolyn Welch in March 10, 1956.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Klingler; a brother, William Bradshaw; and a grandson, Nathan Charles Beyers.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Bradshaw; sons, Donald A. Bradshaw of Carbon, and Jay S. Bradshaw of Brazil; a daughter, Lisa G. Beyers and husband Patrick of Brazil; grandchildren, Haley (Bradshaw) Britton and husband Corey, Jonathan Bradshaw, Elizabeth (Beyers) Coley and husband Noah, Caroline Beyers, Rebecca Beyers, and Samuel Beyers; great-grandson, Henry Charles Coley; a sister, Mildred Teter Green; a brother, Robert Bradshaw and wife Norma; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Visitation will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave., in Brazil, Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, from 4 to 8 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home, Wednesday, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Bill Price officiating.
