Lillian (Lily) Nasser Kirk

TERRE HAUTE — Lillian (Lily) Nasser Kirk, passed into the arms of Jesus on Feb. 18, 2014, at the age of 89. She was born in Terre Haute, in 1924. She graduated from State Laboratory High School and Brown’s Business College. She married David Juergen Kirk (Dave) on April 6, 1947.

She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, a lover of books and poetry, an accomplished and enthusiastic baker, a tireless and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Her quiet presence and dry humor will be reminisced and missed by all who knew her.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Asa and Tufeha Nasser; brother, David Nasser; sisters, Rachel Frye and Mary Menke; and beloved spouse, David J. Kirk.  

Lillian is survived by her sister, Jeanette Shahadey; brother, Frank Nasser; children, David J. Kirk (Kathleen), John K. Kirk, James W. Kirk, Janet Kropp (Chris), Jerry Kirk and Jaymie Duerlinger; grandchildren, Cathy Frazier Denny, John Rice, Ryan Kirk, Sarah Brentlinger, Jeremiah Kirk, Nicole Duerlinger, Kyle Kirk, Joshua Duerlinger, Effie Kropp and Eva Kropp; great-grandchildren, Maggie Rice, Sydney Denny, Chloe Denny, Kristen Rice, Zane Nelson, Ary McKenna Nelson, and Emma Brentlinger.  

Visitation is Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Drive, from 2 to 5 p.m. Memorial service for Monday, Feb. 24, 2014, at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 645 Poplar St., at 10 a.m. with graveside service following.
