Michael “Patrick” Goda, passed away Feb. 13, 2014, in Los Alamos, N.M., where he lived with his wife Joetta and daughter Callie. Patrick was born on March 17, 1971, in Topeka, Kan., to Michael A. Goda and Pamela Gwynn. He attended North Montgomery High School, and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Physics from Wabash Valley College. He also attended the University of Hawaii, where he obtained a master’s degree in meteorology. Patrick married Joetta on Sept. 5, 1998.
He was employed at Los Alamos National Lab for approximately 10 years before he left to run his own business, Ask Me Graphics. He has most recently spent his time as an at-home father caring for his 8-year-old daughter, Callie.
In addition to devotedly caring for his daughter, he enjoyed playing guitar, photography, graphic design, hiking and reading.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Mike Goda and Tom Gwynn. He is survived by his wife, Joetta Goda; daughter, Calberta “Callie” Goda; father and stepmother, Michael and Linda Goda of Fontanet; mother, Pamela Gwynn of Crawfordsville; sisters, Jennifer Rivers and Mary Ellen Goda; brothers, Sean Goda and Pete Goda; and 15 nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, from 2 to 5 p.m. with the funeral to follow at 5 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to his daughter, Callie’s, education fund via Old National Bank 1825 Lafayette Ave., Terre Haute, IN 47804, envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
