TERRE HAUTE —
Opal S. Green, of Terre Haute, passed away at 10:55 p.m. on Feb. 12, 2014, at Westridge Health Facility. She was born Nov. 8, 1922, in Fontanet, to George F. and Martha Mattie Frazier, both of whom have preceded her in death.
She also was preceded in death by her three brothers, Luther Frazier, Cleo Frazier, and Bob Frazier; five sisters, Thelma Baker, Evelyn Grindle, Earlene Ribbe, Marie VanHook, and B. Virginia Fields; and a son-in-law, Joseph Edward (Eddie) Quinn.
She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis M. Quinn; and a son, William Mack Marts Sr.; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Marts of Terre Haute; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Opal was a member of the Moose Lodge, and the Eagles 291. She served on The Arthritis Foundation and was a member of Senior Citizens. She loved to dance, bowl, play bingo and work puzzles. Opal was a homemaker, and had worked at Visqueen, Miller and Parrott and Indianapolis Bleaching Company.
Services are today, Feb. 14, 2014, at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, 4660 N. Lafayette Ave., at 7 p.m. with a visitation from 4 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Steve Brattain.
