TERRE HAUTE — Douglas Leon Davis, 62, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, in his residence. He was employed as a quality control specialist engineer with Jacob’s Engineering in Indianapolis, where he had worked many years. He had also previously been employed many years with Commercial Solvents, Pitman-Moore, Malincrakt Veterinary, and Scherring-Plough, all in Terre Haute. He was born Oct. 4, 1951, in Terre Haute, to Donald H. Davis and Mary Francis Medley Davis.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Christina L. Creasey Davis, whom he married on Nov. 25, 1977; two sons, Eric S. Davis and his companion Aimee Graves of Clinton, and Ian J. Davis and his wife Amanda of West Terre Haute; a daughter, Angela M. Arnold and her husband Mark of West Terre Haute; nine grandchildren Caleb J. Davis, Ellaina C. Davis, Amia J. Davis, Ashlyn Arnold, Dylan Arnold, Kristopher Hedden, Jeremy Hedden, Adam Hedden, and Nicholas Morris; two brothers, Dennis H. Davis and his wife Janet of Chilicothe, Ill., and Bradley D. Creasey of West Terre Haute; many special close friends including, Kim and Carrie Kessler, Tom and Sam Lee, and Pat and Sandra Kelley; several nieces and nephews; and his little buddy and K9 companion, Buster, who was like his fourth child. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Doug was a member of West Side Community Church, where he played guitar with the church musicians. He was inducted into the Wabash Valley Musicians Hall of Fame in 2011. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider; and he and Christina enjoyed riding with their friends. Doug was a very loving and devoted husband as well as a wonderful father, and grandfather.

A celebration of life service will be held in his honor at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, in West Side Community Church with the Rev. Chris Wilbur officiating. There will be visitation for family and friends prior to the service from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday. According to his wishes, cremation has been arranged. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the West Side Community Church or Gentiva Hospice with envelopes available in the church. Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, in West Terre Haute, assisted Doug’s family with the arrangements.
