Harold Leon Dillier

CASEY, Ill. — Harold Leon Dillier, 77, of Casey, passed away at 3 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, at Heartland Nursing Center. He was born July 3, 1936, in Johnson Township in Clark County, the son of Elza H. Dillier and Lucille Simpson Dillier. On Dec. 20, 1954, he married Elsie Cutright in Casey.

Survivors include his wife, Elsie Dillier; son, Randy (Brenda) Dillier of Casey; daughter, Brenda (Kurt) Edens of Casey; sister, Carolyn (Tom) Baker of Paris, Ill.; grandchildren, Clint Dillier of Boston, Mass.; Jenna (Shane) Edwards of Olney, Ill.; Lucas (Katie) Dillier of Casey; Weston (fianceé Vicky) Edens of Columbia, Md.; Michael (Karri) Edens and Kelsey Edens, all of Casey; and great-grandchildren, Grayson Edwards and Jedson Dillier. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Marsha Kay Dillier.

Leon was a 1954 graduate of Casey High School. Upon graduation he worked in the oil field for his uncle W. L. Dillier. Leon was a lifelong farmer in the Casey area; he farmed first with his dad and later with his son. Although Leon had retired, he was still very active. He was a member of the Casey United Methodist Church and served on the board of Marshall Mutual for more than 30 years. Leon and Elsie enjoyed traveling.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. CST Saturday, Feb. 1, 2014, at Casey United Methodist Church, 703 N. State Hwy 49, with the Rev. Dr. Penelope Barber officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until services Saturday at the church. Markwell Funeral Home assisted with arrangements.
