Patrick William Smiley

BRAZIL — Patrick William Smiley, 27, passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospital, in Indianapolis. He was born Aug. 2, 1986, in Brazil, to Tony and Linda Smiley.

Patrick attended Northview High School, and was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America where he earned the rank of Tenderfoot, participated in the Special Olympics, and enjoyed singing, dancing and live musicals. Patrick loved watching television, playing video games and spending time with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William and Catherine Tozer; paternal grandfather, Roger C. Smiley; uncle, Richard Tozer; and an aunt, Kristina Smiley.

Survivors include his parents of Brazil; sisters, Laura (Johnny Snyder) Smiley, and Annie Smiley, all of Brazil; aunts and uncles, Marcia Tozer, and Mary Ellen Tozer, both of Brazil, Bill (Pat) Tozer of Colorado, Todd Smiley and Mark Smiley, both of Brazil, and Tim (Sarah) Smiley of Florida: paternal grandmother, Patricia Roberts of Greencastle; nephew, Chandler Smiley of Brazil; and several other extended relatives.

A funeral mass will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Annunciation Catholic Church, with Fr. John Hollowell officiating. Burial will follow at Clearview Cemetery. The family will accept friends Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Moore Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Annunciation Catholic Church or Live, Laugh, Dance.
