Earl Lynn Lenderman

WEST TERRE HAUTE — Earl Lynn Lenderman, 62, of West Terre Haute, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2014, at Union Hospital Emergency Room in Terre Haute. He was a lifelong farmer in Northwestern Vigo County and passed away while working on the family farm. He was born Feb. 20, 1951, in Terre Haute, to Floyd E. Lenderman and Violet Leah Curry Lenderman.

Earl was a 1969 graduate of West Vigo High School and a 1973 graduate of Purdue University, where he received his B.S. degree in agriculture mechanization. As a young man, Earl was involved in the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts of America, and a member of the 4-H National Club Congress. After graduating from college, Earl was a member of Sandford Volunteer Fire Department, and HAMM Radio Club of Terre Haute. He was a member and Past Master of the West Terre Haute Masonic Lodge 687 Free & Accepted Masons, the Scottish Rite Valley and Zorah Shrine Temple, both in Terre Haute. He also was a member of Vigo County Antique Tractor Club. Earl also was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves.

Survivors include two brothers, Floyd M. Lenderman, and Lloyd Lenderman and his wife Georgia, all of West Terre Haute; three nephews, Bryan Lenderman and his wife Shannon and their children Jabyn and Kira; Jason Andrew Lenderman and his wife Jessica and their children Giuseppe and Jason Erik of Albuquerque, N.M.; and Benjamin Lenderman and his wife Jevy and their daughter Charlotte. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services for Earl will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., in West Terre Haute, with the Rev. Bob Roush officiating and Masonic services by West Terre Haute Masonic Lodge 687 Free & Accepted Masons. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday with a Fire Department memorial service at 7 p.m. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association with envelopes available in the funeral home.
