Ricky Bell

TERRE HAUTE — Ricky Bell, 33, of Terre Haute, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014. Ricky was born on Dec. 19, 1980, in Terre Haute, to Douglas Lee “Shorty” Bell and Donna Kay Handlin Bell.

Ricky was raised in Fontanet and moved to Terre Haute in 2004. Ricky attended Rio Grande Elementary, Otter Creek Jr. High, North Vigo High School and graduated from Northview High School. He also attended Ivy Tech and graduated with degrees in EMT and certified phlebotomist. He was currently attending Indiana State University. Ricky had worked at Kroger, Med Lab, Alorica, Normal Life and Penn Station. Ricky had attended Higher Ground Christian Church and was baptized with his father at Bethlehem Temple Church of the Apostle Faith. Some of the many organizations Ricky was involved in were AYF Camp Miniwanca, 4-H, unified swimming with his brother in Special Olympics, Boy Scouts, earning Eagle Scout and attending the 1997 National Boy Scout Jamboree, Hoosier Boys State, track and field, and marching band.

Of all of his accomplishments, his greatest ones were his daughters, Shakayla Chyanne Bell and Taneisha Renee McClelland of Brazil.

Ricky leaves behind to cherish his memories: his precious daughters; his mother, Donna Bell; three brothers, Eric Handlin, Douglas Bell Jr., and Michael Lee Bell Sr.; special nephew, Michael Lee “Peanut” Bell Jr., adopted nephew, Travis Mahwin; sister-in-law, April Bell; special friend, Angela Morris; the mother of his daughters, Teresa McClelland. He also is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friend, David Cohee and family.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at Brazil United Pentecostal Church, 1088 E. National Ave., Brazil, from 2 to 6 p.m. Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 North 13th Street, in Terre Haute, was entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be made at:
