Edgar R. Fuqua, 69, of Clinton, was reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Royce Ann, on Friday, June 28, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born July 26, 1943, in Terre Haute, to Edgar Franklin and Clara L. (Myers) Fuqua. He married Royce Ann Pittman on April 13, 1963, and together they raised two children. Edgar proudly served in the U.S. Army. He worked for many years as an auto mechanic.
Edgar was a volunteer firefighter for the Shepardsville Fire Department. He also was a 32nd Degree Mason. In his spare time, he liked to watch NASCAR and enjoyed time with his family.
He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Fuqua of Clinton; his son, Rance Fuqua and wife Sandy of Terre Haute; four grandchildren, Aaron Fields, Amber Harmon and husband Bill, and Jordan Fields, all of Clinton, and Stephen Engles of Bloomington; a sister, Gebe Blackwell of Oklahoma; a brother, Larry Fuqua of Chicago; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and brothers, Bob, Lucky, and Bobby Gene Fuqua.
Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today at Roselawn Funeral Home, with Masonic rites taking place at 7 p.m. A funeral ceremony will be noon Wednesday, July 3, 2013, with Pastor Bob Parker officiating and military rites performed by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 972. Private burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shepardsville Fire Department. Online condolences may be expressed at:
