Dallas Ray Stoelting, 76, of Terre Haute, passed away at 10:55 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2014, in Union Hospital, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Westphalia, on Sept. 18, 1937, to Eric Stoelting and Ruth Thomas Stoelting. Dallas was a retired meat cutter from Kroger, and was a member of the United Commercial Food Workers Union, as well as the Bicknell Elks Club Lodge 1421.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Stoelting, whom he married Oct. 27, 1962. Also surviving are two sons, Kent Stoelting (wife Julie) and Brent Stoelting (wife Julia); as well as his beloved grandchildren, Brenna Steele (husband Justin), Wyatt Stoelting, Dillon Stoelting, and Jackson Stoelting; one brother, Richard Stoelting; one sister, Marquitta Richardson; and several nieces and nephews.
Dallas loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in DeBaun Funeral Homes, Springhill Chapel on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at 7 p.m., with Pastor Teresa Higus officiating. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. Graveside services will be on Friday, June 6, 2014, at 2 p.m., at Bethel Cemetery in Freelandville.
