MARSHALL, Ill. —
James Frederick Russell, 72, of Marshall, formerly of Vigo County, Ind., passed away 12:35 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at his home following an extended illness. He was a retired stationary engineer with Western Tar, in Terre Haute, following 23 years of service. He was born Aug. 30, 1940, at Terre Haute, the son of James E. Russell and Goldie C. Pigg Russell.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon Melvin Russell; three children, Curtis (Donna) Russell, Tammy (Chris) Johnson and James Eric (Amy) Russell; four brothers, Phillip Russell, Jack Russell, Jerry Russell and Marvin Russell; two sisters, Claudia Cox and Jane Russell; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He served in the U.S. Army in Korea, and was a member of Clark County American Legion Post 90.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. EST Thursday in Pleasant View Cemetery, in Vigo County, with military graveside rites conducted by American Legion Post 90 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5975.
