George “Tim” Kruse, 67, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 1:56 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at Union Hospital in Terre Haute. He retired from the Teamsters Union Local 135 in Terre Haute, where he had been a member since 1970. He was born Sept. 1, 1945, in Terre Haute, to George Thomas Kruse and Anna Hennigan Kruse, of St. Mary-of-the-Woods. They moved to West Terre Haute in 1950, where Tim has lived the rest of his life. He graduated from St. Leonard’s School in 1959, then from Schulte High School in 1963. He then served in the Air National Guard from 1964 to 1971.
Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Christina and Bill Pollitt; two nieces, Angie O’Neal and Cindy Cox; a great-niece, Heather Lange and her husband, Brandon; two great-nephews, Craig O’Neal and Connor O’Neal; one great-great-niece, Tristin; and one great-great-nephew, Isaiah.
He was a member of St. Leonard’s Catholic Church for many years. He also was a member of the American Legion Post 501, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6574, and West Terre Haute Young Men’s Club.
Tim’s funeral service will be 12 noon Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., in West Terre Haute. with Father Bernard Head and Sister Joan Slobig officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time Saturday.
