Bill was born on April 7, 1938, in Verdun, Quebec, lived most of his early years in Owen Sound, Ontario, but has been a resident of Indiana since 1969. Beloved husband, father, brother, grandpa, uncle, and friend; Bill ended his journey Saturday July 13, 2013, at his home with his wife Angela by his side.
He received his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto in 1966 and was a professor of biology at Indiana State University Department of Life Sciences from 1969-1998.
Bill never knew a stranger and never passed up an opportunity to lend a hand. He loved woodworking, gardening and interacting with people.
As per his wish, there will be no memorial service. Bill’s desire was for each of us to think of him fondly, share a smile and “pay it forward”. Suggestions include spend ing quality time with a loved one or showing a kindness to someone in need. Donations in his honor to Habitat for Humanity or a Cancer Patient Support Group would be greatly appreciated.
Ever the teacher and true to his nature, he has donated his body to the IU School of Medicine and will have the opportunity to teach anatomy one last time.
