Robert Eugene Fink

Robert Eugene Fink, 62, of Terre Haute, went to be with the Lord at 8:08 p.m. on July 19, 2013, surrounded by his family and his caregivers from Gentiva Hospice. He was born on April 23, 1951, to Robert Cecil Fink and Margaret Alice Fink. He attended West Vigo High School class of “69” and later went on to start his career in the heating and cooling business.

He had a passion for life in so many ways and could not have been a better husband, father, son, brother or “Poppy”. His favorite activities in life were his weekend poker games with family and friends, his bowling leagues and his trips to Tunica to play Keno. With a beautiful voice and his love of country music, he always had a song in his heart. His biggest passion of all was the time he spent with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Cecil Fink; his stepfather, Harvey Hughes; and brother, Harold Hughes. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 32 years, Jacquie Fink; three sons, Robert Oxford, Gary Oxford, and Gary Lawrence, all of Terre Haute; four daughters, Lori Fink of Seelyville, Bobbi Rardin of Terre Haute, Melissa Lawrence, and Lori Deverick, both of Terre Haute; his 13 grandchildren, Garrett, Brock and Mallory Oxford, all of Rosedale, Tailor and Tanner Rardin of Terre Haute, Ashlyn, Abbigail, and Robert Deverick of Terre Haute, Colton, Piper, and Mackenzie Norton of Terre Haute, Landon Kelley and Holden Lawrence, both of Terre Haute. He also is survived by his mother, Margaret Hughes; brother, Hubert Hughes of Terre Haute; sisters, Donna Huff of Paris, Ill., Jeannie Neal, Betsy Keith, and Dianna Conrad, all of Terre Haute, Debbie Richey of West Terre Haute, and Perry Stone of Greencastle; as well as several nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; an aunt, Dorothy and an uncle, Phil. Though sadly missed he will be in our hearts forever.

Funeral services for Robert will be 1 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2013, in Fitzpatrick  Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., in West Terre Haute, with his brother-in-law, Darren Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. until service time Monday. Serving as pallbearers will be: Brian Wilkins, Jeff Norton, Jeremy Butler, Joe Butler, Brant Rardin, Paul Perigo, Steve Conrad, and Dennis Neal.
