WEST TERRE HAUTE —
Georgia Rose Jenkins Pruiett, 81, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 1:14 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2013, in her home among her family. She was born Nov. 11, 1931, in Vermillion, Ill., to Clyde and Ruth McCoy Jenkins. She was a stay at home Mom until she returned to work in the cafeteria at West Vigo Schools and retired from Vigo County School Corporation.
She was married to the love of her life, John “Dick” Pruiett, whom she married on Dec. 24, 1947. He preceded her in passing on Dec. 1, 2008, after 61 years of marriage.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda (Pruiett) Miller and Fred Miller of Marshall, Ill., and Belinda (Pruiett) Haywood and Steve Haywood of Bloomfield; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Stephanie Pruiett of Winter Haven, Fla.; grandchildren, Marcia Travioli and her husband Mike of Marshall, Cary Miller and his wife Brandy of West Terre Haute, Dustin Haywood and his wife Brittany of Switz City, Ciera Austin and her husband Ryan, and Keaton Haywood, all of Bloomfield, and Hunter and Ethan Pruiett of Winter Haven; great-grandchildren, Rebecca Tackett and her husband Connor, and Jonathan Travioli, all of Marshall, Ted Fagg, Devin Ewing, and Keelie Miller of West Terre Haute, and Addison LaFree of Switz City; a brother and sister-in-law, Ron Noll and his wife Sandra of West Terre Haute; and several nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister.
Funeral services for Georgia will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. Third St., in West Terre Haute, with Brother Keith Haywood officiating. Burial will be in Bethesda Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and prior to services Saturday. The family suggests that if friends so desire, memorial contributions may be made to Light House Mission or to Sugar Creek Baptist Church with envelopes available in the funeral home.
