Grace C. Lohse

LYFORD — Grace C. Lohse, 79, of Lyford, died at 2:04 a.m., on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born Oct. 18, 1934, in Terre Haute, to George Reuben Paul Stevenson Sr. and Grace Hamilton Stevenson. She was retired from Columbia House. She was a member of the Friendly Grove Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Lewis Lohse Sr.; and brother in-law, Richard Dean.

She is survived by six sons, William L. Lohse Jr. and Irma of Clinton, Dennis K. Lohse and Karen of Clinton, Jonathon R. Lohse of Clinton, Fred Lohse of Terre Haute, Clark E. and Carol Lohse of Clinton, and Daniel T. Lohse of Rosedale; two daughters, Janice and Cecil Capps of Terre Haute, and Tamara Lohse of Boston; 24 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; three brothers, George Reuben Paul Stevenson Jr. and Cindy, Gary Eugene Stevenson and Ruth, and Thomas Dale Stevenson and Patsy; four sisters, Constance Lorine Oglesby, Mary Lou Hiatt and Stephen, Rita Kay Dean, and Carla Dianne Edmonson and Darell.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. at Frist Funeral Home, 458 Blackman St., on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Perry Mager officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park, Terre Haute. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
