Paul W. Bedwell

BRAZIL — BRAZIL — Paul W. Bedwell, 84, of Brazil, passed away at Cloverleaf Health Care, Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, following an extended illness. Paul was born Feb. 28, 1929, in Jasonville, the son of Ralph and Ida (Kisor) Bedwell. He graduated from Midland High School with the class of 1949. Paul had worked at Hygrades in Indianapolis and Columbia Records in Terre Haute. Most recently he retired from Forrest Park Elementary School, as a custodian after 18 years of service. Paul married Elizabeth Bedwell on June 2, 1957, and was a devoted member of the Cloverland Gospel Church.

Paul enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing and mushroom hunting. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and listening to country and gospel music.

In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Bedwell; a sister, Virginia Harris; and three brothers, William Bedwell, Donald Bedwell and Richard Bedwell.

He is survived by his two sisters, Shirley Bennett of Terre Haute and Bette Wheeler of Clinton; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Services will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave., in Brazil, Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Scott Golembecki officiating. Burial will follow at Lebanon Cemetery, in Midland. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of services.
