Mary House Wright

BRAZIL — BRAZIL — Mary House Wright, 83, went to be in the presence of her Lord and Savior on Feb. 10, 2014. Mary was born June 24, 1930, in Owen County, to Noah and Lillian Shonk. She graduated from Coalmont High School in 1948, and married James House. Mary Lou worked at Indiana State University and the Clay County Sheriff’s Department.

She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Mary spent her free time watching soap operas, yard selling and hosting coffee parties. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband James House; second husband, Vern Wright; daughter, Mary Lou House; son, Noah Bradley House; brother, Paul Shonk; son-in-law, John Bradshaw; and granddaughter, Hannah House.

Survivors include sons, James (Kathy DeForest) House II of Barnhart, Mo., Graham (Marcy) House of Coalmont, Steve (Darlene) House of Brazil, Harold (Susan) House of Terre Haute, and Daniel House of Brazil; foster son, Doyle Dietz of Brazil; daughters, Ann Bradshaw, and Rita (Oscar) Neese, all of Brazil, and Jackie (Don) Sutherlin of West Terre Haute; sisters, Norietta (Grover Young) Myers of Coalmont, and Kietha Richey, of Jasonville; 35 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren, with twins on the way; and several extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Moore Funeral Home, with Pastor Kenneth White officiating. Spencer House, Vincent House, John Bradshaw, Jim House, Steve White, Steve House, Jeffrey Lawhorn, and Andy House will serve as pall bearers. Mary will be laid to rest at Poplar Cemetery.
