Mary Clotine Conrad

TERRE HAUTE — Mary Clotine Conrad, 80, of Terre Haute, and formerly of Parke County, passed away at 7:58 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 8, 2013, at Union Hospital. She was born Aug. 23, 1933, in Parke County, the daughter of the late Charles and Eva Creamer Elmore. She married Richard Conrad on June 12, 1955, in Bloomingdale. He preceded her in death on June 14, 1977.

Survivors include two sons, Richard L. Conrad of Terre Haute, and Terry R. (Marcy) Conrad of Longboat Key, Fla.; four granddaughters, Lindsay and Chelsea Conrad, Ashley Stewart and Alli Boyne; one grandson, Aaron Conrad; one great-granddaughter and one great-grandson; one sister, Betty Meade of Carrollton, Ga.; two brothers, John Burke of Springfield, Mo., and Fred (Rose) Elmore of Terre Haute; sister-in-law, Carolyn Estock of Cayuga; special niece, Glenda Haines of Covington; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister and one brother.

Mary retired from WalMart in Terre Haute in 2000. She formerly owned and operated a beauty shop in Cayuga. She was a member of the Kingman Christian Church. She was a 1951 graduate of Tangier High School and a 1952 graduate of beauty school. She enjoyed playing golf, crocheting and spending time with her grandchildren.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. EST Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at DeVerter Funeral Home, in Cayuga, with the Rev. Eugene Walls officiating. Burial is at Thomas Cemetery, in Newport. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013. Condolences may be left at:
