TERRE HAUTE —
Larry Dean Ellis, 57, of West Terre Haute, passed away at 8:16 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2013, in his residence. He had been a mechanic with One Source Equipment Rental in Terre Haute. He was born Oct. 27, 1955, in St. Joseph, Mo., to Wilber Henry Ellis and Jean Reece Ellis.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Campbell Ellis, whom he married April 5, 1980, in Terre Haute; two sons, Brad Ellis and companion Brandy Law, and Brandon Ellis; his parents; his mother-in-law, Freda Campbell; two sisters, Connie Bennett and husband Joe, and Cheryl Hamilton and husband Kevin; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Verlin Funkhouser, Terry and Pam Campbell, Butch and Debbie Campbell, Rick Campbell, and Lori Campbell-Morris; five grandchildren, Ethan Ellis, Erika Ellis, Lexie Holder, Keith Holder, and Conner Ellis; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Wayne Campbell.
Larry was a member of Unity Presbyterian Church. He had been an Eagle Scout. He was a true outdoorsman, he enjoyed spending his time camping and boating with his family, hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes, and spending time with his loved ones around a campfire.
A Celebration of Life and visitation for Larry will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in Fitzpatrick Funeral Home, 220 N. 3rd St., in West Terre Haute. Cremation has been scheduled. Burial of his ashes will be at a later date in Bethesda Memorial Park.
