LINTON — Clarence Raymond Miller, 80, of Linton, passed away Friday, July 5, 2013, at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. He was born in Clay County, Ind., on Feb. 26, 1933, to Warren and Hazel (Keller) Miller. Clarence married Barbara L. Price on June 23, 1951.
Clarence worked for Peabody Coal Company for 37 years and also as a ferryboat captain for Walt Disney World. He retired in 1990. His memberships include the Linton First Baptist Church and the UMWA (United Mine Workers of America).
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Miller; a son, Tim (Donna) Miller of Linton; two daughters, Teresa (Jack) Greenwood of Linton and Joan (Brian) Vickers of Rock Falls, Ill.; six grandchildren, Travis Miller, Amy (James) Swick, Tina (Robert) Miller, Ryan Greenwood, and Jordyn and Austin Vickers; seven great-grandchildren, Adriana, Grady, Jaelin, Ramyra, Delaiah, Catalina, and Joryon; a brother, Vernon (Delores) Miller of Linton; and three sisters, Evelyn (Billy) Singleton of Linton, Patsy Moore of Lafayette, and Carolyn (Leroy) Liston of Linton; and our beloved dogs, Oscar Mayer and Snickers. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Robert, Norman, and Forest (Johnny) Miller.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, July 8, 2013, at Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel at 1 p.m. with Pastors Brian Vickers and David Tyra officiating. Interment will follow with private graveside rites at Peavey Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel from 5 to 8 p.m. today, July 7, 2013, and from 11 a.m. until the hour of service at 1 p.m., Monday, July 8, 2013.
