Donald P. Miller Jr.


BRAZIL — BRAZIL — Donald P. Miller Jr., 59, of Jensen Beach, Fla., and formerly of Brazil, passed away June 29, 2013, at Martin Memorial Hospital, in Stuart, Fla., following a brief battle with cancer. Don was born Jan. 9, 1954, in Brazil, the son of Don and Marylou (McCollister) Miller. Don graduated from Staunton High School with the class of 1972. While in high school he participated in basketball, baseball, track and marching band. Don had worked in construction, with Bill Brown Construction and at Great Dane Trailers, in Brazil. While living in Florida he had continued his work in the carpentry trade.  

In his free time Don enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lester and Louise Miller of Center Point; maternal grandparents, Everett "Flick" and Ilene McCollister; great-grandparents, Cliff and Rose Easter, Laura Ferguson and Ira McCollister; uncles, Charles "Bud" Miller and Lester H. Miller Jr.; and an aunt, Helen Jeanne Kelton.

Don is survived by his parents; a daughter, Andria Buck and husband Darren of Brazil; a granddaughter, Karsyn Buck of Brazil; a son, Chad Miller of Rio, Fla.; sister, Paula Williams and husband Ken of Madison, S.D.; a brother, Jim Miller and wife Julia of Stuart, Fla.; an aunt, Mary Opal Miller of Brazil; an uncle, Alan McCollister and wife Diane of Coshocton, Ohio; nieces, Heather Fessenden and husband Dr. Mike, Nichole Williams and husband Jeremy; nephews, James "J.D." Miller and wife Rose, Levi Miller and Ryan Williams; as well as many cousins and extended family members.

Services will be at French Funeral Home, 421 E. National Ave., Brazil, Saturday, July 6, 2013, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Kenny Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Summit Lawn Cemetery.
