Nicholas ‘Nick’ J. Crncic

Nicholas “Nick” J. Crncic, 55, of Terre Haute passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in his residence. He was born in Krk, Croatia on December 19, 1958 to Ivan Crncic and Marija Turcic Crncic. Nick was a maintenance facilitator with DuPont here in Terre Haute and is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Terri Shepherd Crncic, whom he married on October 18, 1986.

Other survivors include one son, Travis Heyen of West Terre Haute; two daughters, Autumn Crncic and Shelby Crncic both of Terre Haute; a granddaughter, Kinsey Hall; two sisters, Nada Pavacic of Canada and Joann Halterman and her husband Tom of Merrillville, IN; a sister-in-law, Sharon Crncic of St. John, IN; his mother-in-law, Erma Jean Spencer; and several nieces and nephews. Nick was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Crncic; and a brother-in-law, John Pavacic.

Nick was an avid sports fan and he coached his children in soccer, basketball, volleyball and softball. He helped with fundraising for Terre Haute South’s volleyball team. He enjoyed being surrounded by his wife, children, granddaughter and the friends of his children.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Monday, June 30, 2014 in Callahan & Hughes Funeral Home, 605 S. 25th Street with Father Matthew Malek officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, June 30, 2014 from 9:00 to 10:30 A.M. in the funeral home. The funeral will be followed by a celebration of life from 12-2 P.M. at the I.U.O.E 841 next to Honey Creek Middle School. The family kindly request that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the N J Crncic Fund, a program created in his honor to help young local athletes participate in volleyball.
