TERRE HAUTE —
Leticia “Tish” Scott, 57, of Terre Haute, passed away Monday, July 29, 2013, at 5:30 a.m., at Meadows Manor East. Tish was born to Richard G. “Dick” Hughes and Phyllis Scott Hughes on March 1, 1956, in Lafayette. Tish was the owner and operator of Center Insurance, working as a licensed insurance agent for many years, and was a member of the National Association of Insurance Women.
She was a member of United Methodist Temple Church of Terre Haute, where she was a member of the choir, bell choir, church council and past board member. She also was a former Sunday school teacher, mentoring to many youth in the Terre Haute area. She was a cheerleader in high school as well as portraying her high school mascot, a Viking, at North White High School, in Monon, where she graduated. She also was a member of Toastmasters.
Survivors include her husband, Donald “Scotty” Scott of Terre Haute, whom she married Feb. 14, 2006; three sons, Charles R. “Charlie” Miller, Andrew Scott Miller and Donald “Donny” Scott III, all of Terre Haute; one daughter, Korina Dawn Scott of Houston; one sister, Chris Taylor and husband Vince of Bloomington; one brother, Barry Hughes and wife Janet of Eaton, Ohio; three grandchildren, Charles R. “Charlie” Miller Jr, Caren Lee Scott and Chloe Otto; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, 2013, in United Methodist Temple Church, 5301 S. US Highway 41. Visitation will be at the church from 2 p.m. until service time Saturday. Greiner Funeral Home, 2005 N. 13th St., was entrusted with arrangements. The Rev. James Copeland will be officiating. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers contribution to Kids of Hope, in care of United Methodist Church, envelopes will be available at the church. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery.
