NEW IBERIA, La. —
Robert Hartley Behringer, 74, a native of Clinton, and resident of New Iberia, La., passed away at 9:35 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at New Iberia Manor South Nursing Home.
Mr. Behringer was a resident of New Iberia for the past 15 years, and also formerly of West Terre Haute. He enjoyed spending time at Cypremort Point and going to the casino with his wife.
He is survived by his wife, Flo Bihm Behringer of New Iberia; sons, Scott Behringer and wife Kim of New Iberia, and Mike Behringer and wife Lisa of West Terre Haute; daughter, Sue B. Maher and husband Jim of Westminster, S.C.; step-daughters, Sandy Bourgeois and husband Mike of New Iberia, and Lisa Landry of Lafayette; step-sons, Rusty Landry of Kingston, Ariz., and Mike Landry and wife Tina of New Iberia; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles William Behringer Sr., his mother and step-father, Isabelle Ballentine Carrithers and Lawrence Carrithers, and one brother, Charles William Behringer Jr.
Memorial Services will be conducted for Mr. Behringer at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at Evangeline Funeral Home, New Iberia, La. Paul Fontenot, pastoral assistant of First United Methodist Church, will officiate at the service. Interment will be held privately at a later date. Visitation will be from 9 until 11 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made in his name to a local youth sports organization.
