Larry Gene Coonce, 72, of Hillsdale, passed away at 5 a.m. in his residence, on July 28, 2013. He was born June 11, 1941, in Clinton. He was a member of Isaak Walton, Montezuma Fish and Game, and had been president of the Hillsdale Water Board. He was a retired assembler for Hyster. He married Reba Tickle on Jan 23, 1960, in Montezuma.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bonner Coonce; and his grandmother, Cecil Coonce, whom he was raised by and referred to as mom.
He is survived by his wife, Reba Tickle Coonce of Hillsdale; two sons, Mike and Carol Coonce of Blanford, and David and Marcy Coonce of Bloomingdale; his brother, Jack Coonce of Clinton; grandchildren, Larry Michael Coonce, Brandi Lindley, Chelsi Coonce and Michael Jones; great-grandchildren, Melanie Coonce, Madison Coonce, Marcus Lindley, Zane Lindley, Hailey Jones and Waylon Jones.
Visitation will be at Brown-Mack Funeral Home today from 5 to 8 p.m. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Keith McIntyre officiating. Burial will be in Helts Prairie Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Southern Care Hospice, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
