TERRE HAUTE —
A celebration of the life of Edyth N. “Nicky” Lee will be held Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 630 Ohio St., in Terre Haute, with the Rev. Dawn Carlson officiating. Everyone who knew Nicky or her husband, David Lee, during the 60 years they lived in Terre Haute as a family is invited to attend.
Nicky passed away March 6, 2013, at Mesilla Valley Hospice in Las Cruces, New Mexico, where she lived with her daughter Margaret since 2006. Her husband, David, passed away at their home in Allendale in 2003. While living in Terre Haute, they were both very active with the First Congregational Church, as well as other groups, such as Community Theatre, Children’s Theatre, the Country Club of Terre Haute, the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra, PEO Women’s International, Indiana Music Teachers’ Assoc., SAI Music International, Alliance Francaise, Terre Haute Rotary Club, AA and Al-Anon.
Nicky received her master’s degree in music education from Indiana State University and taught there in the 1960s and 1970s. She also worked at Paige’s Music Store, the Conservatory of Music, and gave private lessons in their home for several decades.
She is survived by her four children: Niki Mott and husband Jim of Las Cruces; John Lee and wife Dawn of Brazil, IN; Margaret Grant of Las Cruces; Ruth Bedi and husband Tony of San Juan Capistrano, CA; grandchildren Joe and David of the Terre Haute area, Cameron Mott of Davenport, IA; Jameson Mott of Las Cruces; Jim Wells of Raleigh, NC, and Devin and Brittany Bedi of San Juan Capistrano, as well as sisters-in-law, Eleanor Lee of Terre Haute and Virginia Brierley of Minnesota; 10 great-grandchildren; 7 nieces and nephews and several grand nieces and nephews.
