Peggy Jean Pell

CLAY COUNTY — CLAY COUNTY — Peggy Jean Pell, 83, of Clay County, passed away July 27, 2013, following a battle with Alzheimer’s. Peggy was born in Vigo County, on July 3, 1930, the daughter of Arnold O. Howes and Esther (Reimer) Howes.

She attended Brazil High School, where she was a cheerleader. During high school she worked at the Forrest Park Pool as a lifeguard. Peggy also was a member of Delta Theta Tau, Thursday Afternoon Club, Jobs Daughters, where she served as Worthy Matron, and the Order of Eastern Star, Knightsville Lodge. Peggy loved watching her grandchildren in their school and extracurricular activities.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Melissa Jane Pell; and a son, William Earl Pell II. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, William “Bill” Pell of Clay County; two daughters, Suzanne Morgan and husband Mike, and Sally Evinger and husband Michael, both of Clay County; brother, Leroy Howes and wife Susie; grandchildren, Lori (J.C.) Riddell, Traci Reinoehl, Tad Pell, Jennifer (Dave) Clark, Megan (Seth) Smock, Travis Morgan, Amy (Cody) Tucker, Adam (Ashley) Evinger, Chris (Jen) Evinger, and Joe Evinger and fiancée Ahnya; and great-grandchildren, Brody Riddell, Brylie Riddell, Logan Reinoehl, Landon Reinoehl, Maddi (Jayme) Gambill, Siddalee Clark, Saylor Clark, Shiloh Clark, Ashton Hayes, Aiden Hayes, Kreely Smock, Olivia Tucker, Colton Evinger, and Eli Evinger.

Services will be at Lawson–Miller Chapel, in Brazil, Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Bob Kumpf officiating. Burial will follow at Calcutta Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home, Tuesday, from 4 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 50 E. 91st. St., Ste. 100, Indianapolis, IN 46209-4830.
