Geraldine Marie Miller

ROCKVILLE — April 25, 1925 - May 18, 2013

ROCKVILLE — Geraldine Marie Miller, of Chetek, Wis., died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at age 89. She was born April 25, 1924, in Richland County, Wis., to the late Waunita (Glick) Keys and Gerald Keys.

Geri was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, William C. Miller. She is survived by her four siblings. Guy (Alva) Keys, Merlin Keys, Loretta (Sam) Krestal, and Gerald Keys.

Geri and Bill spent most of their lives in Harvey, Ill., where they married in 1941, and raised their family. She enjoyed making a home, working as a dime store clerk, being active in the Free Methodist Church, and socializing with friends and family. Geri’s many interests included outdoor activities such as flower gardening, landscaping, mushroom hunting, golfing, fishing and beach combing. She also enjoyed creative hobbies including painting, sewing, crafts, and home decor. She loved music, and especially loved to hear her children and grandchildren playing instruments and singing together.

In 1982, Bill and Geri retired to Rockville, to be closer to Bill’s relatives, which presently include Sharon (Owen) Harvey, Jimmy (Mary Lou) Wheeler and their families. After Bill died in 1999, Geri moved to Barron, Wis. There she enjoyed living near her son, Larry (Julie) Miller, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Geri is survived by three children, Larry (Julie) Miller of Hillsdale, Wis., Bill (Kathy) Miller of Everett, Wash., and Cindy Gehm (Bruce Gray) of Vermillion, S.D. She had seven grandchildren, Shari (Jeff) Fowler, Joshua (Julie) Miller, Elizabeth (Jamin) Mills, Hannah (Eric) Mosterd, Rebecca Gehm, Peter Gehm, and Jacob Gehm; and three stepgrandchildren, Trevor, Jared (Teresa), and Nolan Matson. She also had great-grandchildren, Jack and Jake Miller, Brohde and Milayna Matson, Ethan and Aaron Mills, and Sebastion Mosterd.

Geri’s final days were blessed with many visits from family and other loved ones, and she was with family at her passing. Her family would like to thank those people for helping her and sharing their love. She is greatly missed.

A memorial service and luncheon will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the Otterbein Methodist Church, 2526 S. State Road 59, Rockville. All are welcome to join immediate family after lunch for an informal graveside visit at Freedom Cemetery, north of Waveland (intersection of Indiana 234 and County Road 625 W., Brown, Ind., 47933.
