Betty Wence

ST.-MARY-OF-THE-WOODS — Betty Jean Albrecht Hunt Wence (Aunt Betty), age 93, of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, IN, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Sisters of Providence Health Care in Saint Mary-of-the-Woods, IN. Mrs. Wence had worked as a legal secretary for the late Paul F. Wells in Terre Haute, IN, until she retired. Upon her retirement, she relocated to Cadiz, KY, where she resided 28 years. Betty was a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church in Cadiz, KY. “Aunt Betty” spent the past few years at Providence Health Care, Inc. sponsored by the Sisters of Providence of Saint St. Mary-of-the-Woods. A sincere thank you to all of those who offered aid and comfort during this time.

She is survived by: One Niece – Sister Lawrence Ann Liston, Terre Haute, IN, Two Step Grandsons – Thomas Wence Brown & Timothy Wence Brown, God Daughter – Theresa Goodwin & Special Friends – the Swearingen Children – Martha, Trixy, Sally, Joe & Georgianna. She was preceded in death by: Husband – Jerrold Wence, Father – Charles Albrecht, Mother – Della Albrecht, One Step Son – Thomas Brown, One Sister – Virginia Liston, One Brother-In-Law- Lawrence H. Liston & Special Friends – Lloyd & Wilma Swearingen.

Arrangements are being handled by Goodwin Funeral Home, Inc., 138 Main St., P.O. Box 2050 Cadiz, KY 42211-031 in Cadiz, KY. The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2014 at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Cadiz, KY. Funeral Mass will be at St. Stephens Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2014 with Father Joseph Babu officiating. Burial will follow at Trigg Memory Acres in Cadiz, KY. Memorial Contributions can be made to: St. Ann Free Clinic, 1436 Locust St., Terre Haute, IN 47807 or Sisters of Providence at St. Mary of the Woods, 1 Sisters of Providence Road, St. Mary-of-the-Woods, IN 47876.
