Audrey Jane Feathers

Audrey Jane Feathers, 78, of Terre Haute, passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2014, at Union Hospital. She was born on Aug. 15, 1935, in Queen, Pa., to Arthur and Ella Mae (Oster) Raupach. Audrey married Archie Feathers Jr., on March 2, 1953.

Audrey worked for several years as a cook at Otter Creek Junior High School. She made the best cookies. In her spare time, Audrey enjoyed reading and playing cards.  She was an avid bowler and played on several leagues. She attended North Terre Haute Christian Church.

Audrey was everyone’s grandma. She always had a smile on her face, and she never considered anyone a stranger. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. More than anything, Audrey cherished the time she spent with her family and her best friend, the late Eva Rigdon. She will be deeply missed by us and her Rigdon family.

Audrey is survived by her son, Jeff Feathers and his wife Carol of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Victoria Dodd and her husband Simon of Terre Haute, Chrissy Bowman and her husband Ryan of Indianapolis, Jeremy Feathers of Terre Haute and his significant other Tayler Layfield of Joliet, Ill., and Elaine Feathers of Terre Haute and her friend Jon Griffin of Westfield; great-grandchildren, Aaron Dodd and Brody Bowman; and a brother, Stanley Raupach and his wife Marge of Duncansville, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Archie; three daughters, Rhonda Feathers, Fayette Virotsko, and Wanda Feathers; brothers, Francis and Thomas Raupach; and sisters, Betty Burkett and Doris Raupach; and her best friend, Eva Rigdon.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2014, at the funeral home, with Pastor Rick Swan officiating. Audrey will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park. Kind words and expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at: www.roselawnfuneralhome.net
